Obama Puts the Economic Cart Before the Horse-by Peter 28, 2009

February 28, 2009

“In his first televised speech before Congress, President Obama asserted that prosperity will return once the government restores the flow of credit in the economy. It may come as a surprise to him, but an economy cannot run on consumer loans. Furthermore, credit stopped flowing in the U.S. for a very good reason: there was no more savings left to loan. Government efforts to simply make credit available, without rebuilding productive capacity or increasing savings, are doomed to destroy what’s left of our economy.”

This economy has gotten so out of hand I had to bring everyone up to speed on what and who is affecting this disaster and who will be benefiting from it, you know it won’t be us.

First off we need to look at the Federal Reserve who is one of the main reasons for this disaster. This article will give you a comprehensive and sometimes satirical look at them.

Next you need to see the “Primary Dealers” of the New York Fed. The New York Fed is the controlling Federal Reserve Bank of the entire Federal Reserve System. Notice one thing and that is look at the names of the financial institutions and see as I did, they are the ones that have been getting the majority of the bailout money and direct capital injection. Nice little good ol’ boys system.

Finally, here are a couple of very interesting videos. They are Glenn Beck talking to Ron Paul. Which brings me to point I have been meaning to say, there are only 2 news personalities that actually talk about the details of this financial disaster. The first is Glenn Beck radio and TV. He is on radio at 10:00am EST M-F and Fox TV at 5:00pm M-F EST. The second is Lou Dobbs on CNN (yes CNN) from 7:00pm to 8:00pm EST and his radio program 3:00pm EST. Both radio programs can be heard on web casts.

From the Libertarian Party of Tennessee – Press Release – February 25, 2009

February 25, 2009

Tennessee Democratic and Republican lawmakers are currently debating about whether or not take the Federal Stimulus money and how to spend it.

“The solution is simple,” declared Libertarian Party of Tennessee Chair Tony Wall, “Take the money. The Libertarian Party of Tennessee opposes the passage of all federal ‘bail-outs’ but, unfortunately, the money has been appropriated and, after all, it belongs to the taxpayers.” Unfortunately, the bi-partisan unity ends there.

“The Tennessee State legislature needs to use the funds to reduce the state’s high sales tax,” said Wall. “History has proven the most effective way to stimulate an economy is by reducing taxes. By tightening its belt, as Tennessee citizens have already done, the State can use the $4.28 billion over the next two years to drastically reduce the tax burden on its residents and revitalize our states’ economy.

The State of Tennessee government needs to sacrifice, like all Tennesseans, and balance the budget without the ‘bail-out’ funds. Eliminating the Dividend Income Tax will encourage new retirees to select Tennessee as their new homeplace and reducing the sales tax will revitalize border towns around the state, which all currently suffer a competitive disadvantage due to high taxes.”

Mr. Wall admits the short term effects will be painful but it is necessary in order to overcome the recession and create a stronger, more inviting environment for future growth. “Tennessee cannot control the rest of the Nation but we can take care of our own, as we have already proven time and again. I encourage all Tennesseans to demand fiscal discipline from their elected officials during this time of crisis.”
